Why Japan?

Over the past several years, God has continued to grow a desire in both of us to be available for ministry—not simply when it's comfortable or convenient, but wherever He may eventually lead us.We don't know what that ultimately looks like.It could mean serving more intentionally here at home. It could mean continued short-term missions. It could someday mean serving somewhere else in the world.Right now, we believe our responsibility isn't to have the entire plan figured out.It's to be willing to take the next step.This November, that next step is Japan.We'll be traveling with Brent and Sara Kelderman of the School of Global Leadership on a trip intentionally designed to stretch and equip us.We'll experience life and ministry in a culture drastically different from our own, participate in various ministry opportunities, learn alongside experienced missionaries and leaders, and attend the Open Bible Asia Summit.We're going into this experience as learners.We want God to challenge our assumptions, stretch our comfort zones, deepen our dependence on Him, and continue preparing us for whatever He may ask of us in the future.Japan isn't the destination of this story.

Being stretched through ministry alongside experienced missionaries and leaders.

OPEN BIBLE ASIA SUMMIT
Joining the Keldermans at the Asia Summit and gaining exposure to what God is doing through ministry throughout Asia.
